Neysa Miller responding to Richard Baraniuk on open-source learning

Rice University’s Connexions project is only one small example of technology available to learners.  It has the potential to provide an infinite amount of information.  It can create “sophisticated learning machines” in which “students can have a book or a course that’s customized to their learning style, context, language, and things that excite them”.
Technology has certainly changed the way we teach, learn, and conduct administrative duties in the school community.  Technology gives teachers unlimited access and the ability to present the most current information to students.  A great example is Richard Baraniuk’s Connexions.  Connexions is a “vast, interconnected, global repository” of information.  The possibilities are unlimited with such technological tools in a classroom. Technology provides students with information, resources, and many tools to enhance their learning experience.  Technology is also integral to the administration of a school.  It serves as a great resource, it is also a method of keeping the school stakeholders connected and informed.
