Amie Adams responding to Viktor Frankl

Viktor Frankl has a very simple but powerful message. He believes that living a conservative life and being yourself is more fulfilling than the busy, chaotic schedules we plan for ourselves and our families. We are evolving everyday in technology and science and Mr. Frankl suggests we keep things simple and focus on who we are and become the best person you know without all kinds of resources. I feel that there needs to be a balance between the competitive/evolving world of invention/creation as well as the more simplified life without all the gadgets of cell phones, computers, and gaming systems. We learn more about each other and relationships become much more personal.
Young people today, overall are getting the reputation of having a negative impact on society, however there are students from that same generation that are creating, inventing, reading, and writing. Many of the old values and morals that were taught many, many years ago are seen being practiced today. Regardless of the change I believe that everyone still has hopes and dreams of success.
The older generations may tend to be judgmental of what they are seeing today from the younger generations but I think much of that comes from age and experience. Part of being young is being an idealist, part of getting older is being a realist.

  1. Amie, You have great thoughts. I agree that many of our old values and morals are still alive but in smaller numbers. I believe too there needs to be a balance for our students and children. Thanks, Liz
